We were so excited and proud when Laura Jean RN decided to come work with our patients at Bay Area Hyperbarics. When you call and come into our clinics, we hope you have the time to chat with her, so she can get to know you. She takes special pleasure in meeting every patient, and she wants to know that you are getting the care, warmth and attention you deserve during your treatments with us. Laura Jean is happiest when knows that your thoughts and concerns are taken care of and you feel welcomed and well taken care of.
You will find your interactions with her enjoyable, knowledgeable and reassuring. She understands hyperbaric medicine and with her years at Stanford Medical Center it seems like she knows the ins and outs of every individual’s medical issues, challenges and personal journeys.
Laura Jean came to us as our Director of Patient Care, with deep compassion, extensive experience and an understanding of the difficulties of the long-term personal and health issues like cancer, infections, hearing loss and head injuries. Some of our patients come in feeling bruised and battered after painful, arduous, and deflating experiences with their previous medical interventions. Laura Jean shows with her words, and her caring that she is listening, that she is on your side and that she understands the tenderness you may be feeling. She understands the difficulty of just making life work while caring for family and friends and managing the day-to-day aspects of medical treatments, pain, fatigue and worries. Laura Jean understands all the multiple complexities long-term health issues bring. She understands from the medical professional point of view, from working with and caring for so many very critically ill people and personally with her own family. She is a perfect fit with our patients with her 10 years at Stanford Medical Center where she grew into key positions caring for patients and their families and in also working in private practice managing patient protocols and their treatments.
Laura Jean is an incredibly valuable addition to our health care team. With her deep knowledge of our patients’ medical issues to coordinating care and helping physicians and providers to understand; what their patients are going through with their hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions, how the treatment builds new cells, organs, tissues, bones and nerves throughout the body, stimulates gene expression and modulates and normalizes hormones and the body’s chemistry.
On a personal note, Laura and her family love to travel and enjoy the mountains and the ocean. She paddleboards and hikes with her husband, her dog, and her kids.
When you come into our clinic, ask to speak with Laura Jean. Feel free to seek her out with any questions or concerns you might have, or just let her have the pleasure of getting to know you. We all have better days with Laura Jean on our team!
