Michelle Steiny, MSN, CNS, NP-C

Michelle is a Nurse Practitioner with 20 years of experience in helping patients manage their health and work through health problems in outpatient settings. She is dedicated to improving her patients’ overall health and wellness through medicine and science. She believes in a holistic approach to healthcare. This includes preventive care to improve patients’ quality of life, such as nutrition, movement, exercise and lifestyle modifications enhanced by recent science and medication management. She provides her patients with personalized care that addresses their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

Michelle is committed to staying up to date with the latest research and advancements in healthcare and is always looking for new ways to improve patient outcomes.

In Michelle’s own words, “Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), first identified in the 1600’s, was developed in the 1800’s to treat decompression sickness. HBOT is known to be an effective method to regenerate and protect soft tissue in non-healing diabetic wounds, thereby reducing amputations. HBOT helps promote graft and skin flap healing, promotes healing of thermal wounds, and promotes healing before and after surgery. Early treatment has been shown to reduce idiopathic hearing loss.

HBOT has also been shown to maintain retinal oxygenation Central Retinal Artery Occlusion. Recent studies show promise in improving overall health by reducing inflammation. Studies in Israel and Florida show HBOT appears to stimulate stem cells, reduce inflammation and maintain telomere length and are looking to HBOT to improve overall health and longevity.

I am excited to join the worldwide hyperbaric medical community and be able to provide HBOT to our patients and families here in the Bay Area.”
