BayArea Hyperbarics administers physician-referred hyperbaric oxygen therapy. We do not diagnose, assess, or provide medical services to patients.
BayArea Hyperbarics is an independent, free-standing clinic offering physician-referred affordable Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT or HBO). BayArea Hyperbarics has provided healing hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients in the South Bay and surrounding areas since 1998. We have administered over 18,000 treatments safely and effectively. We are the only hyperbaric facility south of San Francisco and San Pablo and north of Monterey that uses Medicare-approved hyperbaric hard chambers reimbursable by insurance. We are located in Mountain View, California approximately 10 minutes north of San Jose and 40 minutes south of San Francisco (Directions).
BayArea Hyperbarics treats multiple conditions and diagnoses approved by Medicare, e.g., non-healing wounds, osteomyelitis, radionecrosis, crush injuries, compromised skin grafts and flaps, infections, gas gangrene, gas embolism, peripheral arterial insufficiency, carbon monoxide intoxication, decompression illness. We also provide treatment for conditions that are not always covered by insurance, e.g., stroke, brain injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Autism. We accept patients from medical groups and hospitals such as Kaiser Permanente, O’Connor Hospital, Palo Alto Medical Group, Camino Medical Group, Mills Peninsula, Santa Cruz, Stanford, and many, many more. What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)?
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, HBO2, is a treatment that uses pure oxygen under pressure to speed and enhance the body’s natural ability to heal. It delivers 100% oxygen at a pressure greater than sea level atmospheric pressure in a certified hyperbaric chamber. Oxygen is a necessary part of cellular life and essential to our existence. When parts of the body are unwell or injured and starved of oxygen, they become impaired. This makes healing difficult or impossible. Hyperbaric oxygen dissolves 400 times more oxygen molecules into the blood. This process increases oxygen to damaged areas and regrows small blood vessels. It restores cell growth, rebuilds bones, kills infection, and speeds the body’s healing. Hyperbaric oxygen enhances the body’s natural healing process virtually risk free.
The hyperbaric treatment is both non-invasive and painless. A patient undergoing HBOT spends a prescribed amount of time sitting or reclining in one of our private, cylindrical, body-length hyperbaric chambers where pure oxygen is administered and atmospheric pressure is increased and controlled under meticulous conditions. The dosage, which includes pressure, time, and frequency of treatment, is suited to each patient’s specific diagnosis. HBOT requires a physician’s prescription. During the treatment, a patient can watch movies, listen to music, meditate, or sleep.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration), AMA (American Medical Association), and Medicare-approved treatment used to treat numerous health conditions, diseases, and illnesses. It uses pure oxygen to speed and enhance the body’s natural ability to heal. HBOT is not a fly-by-night treatment or a latest trend. It has been around for many, many years as an accepted and effective treatment for many conditions, diseases, illnesses, and health problems. It is safe and effective.
